Lauren & Jon

I always get excited when a wedding takes me to a new location. Lauren and Jon’s wedding led me to a precious barn in Benton Harbor—The Blue Dress Barn. The couple’s wedding ceremony took place in a quaint spot off to the side of the barn, tucked away by trees. Although the ceremony site possessed plenty of character on its own, adding a few fall flowers to this September wedding gave it a wonderful pop.

To frame the ceremony, the bride and groom brought in their own barrels, which they wanted topped with flowers. A few of the aisle seats were dressed up with a mix of sunflowers and wildflowers that were hung in ball jars. I loved the small bouquet that was placed on the front seat in remembrance of both of Lauren’s parents.

The venue space inside the barn was the cutest! It had such a cozy feel to it. Flowers placed around barn as well as centerpieces on the tables added warmness feel to the neutral color scheme.

Lauren wanted to adorn the head table with something she could later use to decorate her home. Wheat and lavender bunches worked perfectly.

When I was told that the cake– created by Dee’s Specialty Cakes—would be designed to look like a barrel, I couldn’t wait to see it! I must admit, I have never been as blown away by a cake as I was by Lauren and Jon’s cake.

Lauren wanted her wedding colors to be spread around the venue. Arrangements of all sizes were positioned around the barn to accomplish this.

Congratulations to Lauren and Jon. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness together.
