Kelly & Merv

I first met with Kelly and Merv last summer. I was immediately excited to work with them for their June wedding. I don’t know if I’ve ever met two nicer people. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and very receptive to discussing different and creative ideas. They were married in Kelly’s childhood church on the Southside of Chicago and their reception followed at Avalon Manor in Merrillville.

I delivered all of the bouquets to Kelly’s parents’ house. I love the vibe of walking into a childhood home as a bride is preparing for the next step of her life. There is something incredibly sweet and calming about it.

The boutonnieres consisted of a simple white rose.

Garland on the front altar table added an extra touch to the unity candle.

The pastel purple and blue combination was such a welcoming change of pace for me. I loved all the textures and how well the flowers coordinated with the bridesmaids’ dresses.

The church did not allow flower petals to be thrown. The flower girl carried a lavender pomander instead.

As part of its wedding package, Avalon Manor provided a bubble bowl and mirror. I then added a few blooms and a candle to each. It was a simple yet creative centerpiece.

Congrats to Kelly and Merv. May life be as generous to you as you both are to others.

I am overjoyed that I was able to share this wedding with Michelle Cox Photography! I now get to enjoy her beautiful work.
